Cortez/Bradenton

Working from memories of
Old
Florida bars, U-pick signs and old
small town carnival imagery, she
creates work that is familiar and
in some cases tributes to old bar
standards. As a writer/poet, many
of the sayings on her work are original.
"Walk a Mile in my Flips Flops..and
Bring me back a beer" is a copyrighted
song she wrote from her time living
on a boat with Cortez's TiKiman.
This beloved tiki carver passed
July 20, 2008. He taught her how
to live off her funny coastal art
no matter which version of the
story she tells you.
