         Kayak and canoe rentals are available for
      exploring the scenic Loxahatchee River. Also:
      guided eco/historic trips.
(reservations required)


     The guides point out battlefield sites, Seminole
     settlements and the old military road leading from
         Fort Jupiter to Lake Okeechobee. Some of the
              area's leading archaeologists conduct
                             these guided tours.

                          Trip # 1
  Riverbend Park to Jonathan Dickson Park.

- 5 to 6 hours paddling (includes
    picnic time)    
- Approximately 8 miles long
- Pass Trapper Nelson's  
- Trip requires moderate effort
- May require pulling  canoe over
   fallen trees.
- Begin trip by 11:00 A.M.
- Return Transportation
   toll free 
      Picnic tables and bathrooms 
                            at Trapper Nelson's site.

                 Trip # 2
  Begin and end in Riverbend Park.

- For each hour downriver allow,
   allow  1 hour and 15 minutes.
- Approximately 2 hours paddling
   time, round trip to  Masten Dam.
- Numerous birds, river otters,
   and perhaps an alligator.
- Tropical and subtropical
- May require pulling canoe over
   fallen trees.
- Begin trip before 2:00 P.M.
