will find a bakery, an ice cream
fountain and a store that special-
izes in primitive antiques ( old
farm implements etc.)

The old courthouse (above) is
now home to the Polk County
History Museum and what
is perhaps Florida's largest
genelogical library.
Bartow hosts several events
each year including " A Southern
Christmas " .The Bloomin'
Arts
Festival draws some of the

Bartow
Aptly called the "City of Oaks
and Azaleas", Bartow is a small
town oasis that's worth a visit.
The historic downtown (left) is
charmed with antique boutiques
and the majesty of a towering
old courthouse.

Shady, canopied avenues with
stately homes built in the late
19th and early 20th century
grace verdant lawns.
(above and below)

Just three miles
from town is the
Homeland Heritage Park, with
six restored buildings from
the 1800's.
Spend the day or
spend the night
in this friendly hamlet between
Tampa and Orlando. Stay at the
Stanford Inn,
Bartow's deluxe
Bed & Breakfast.
